Digital Well-Being in EU Regulation (Thesis)

📝 In her Master’s thesis, our student Alexandra Ioannou explores how digital well-being is challenged in today’s attention economy — where platforms are designed to keep us hooked and constantly engaged. 🤳👁️

🔍 She examines how addictive design, dark patterns, manipulative algorithms, and personalized ads often limit user autonomy and raise serious concerns around mental fatigue, stress, and exposure to harmful content.

🇪🇺👩🏻‍⚖️ Focusing on recent EU regulations like the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Alexandra analyzes how far current regulatory frameworks go — and where they still fall short in protecting users and offering meaningful control over their digital experiences.
