Our student Georgia Vasileiou successfully completed her Erasmus+ internship at Beyond the Horizon International Strategic Studies Group in Brussels — an independent think tank addressing global, societal, security, and digital challenges to promote peace, resilience, and informed policymaking worldwide.
Over the course of three months, Georgia was involved in a variety of research and strategic communications tasks at the intersection of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and media literacy.
A key highlight was her contribution to an EU-funded project called “Immune 2 Infodemic”, where she authored a research paper analyzing how AI is used to spread disinformation — with a focus on Russia’s Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI).
She also prepared the organization's 2024 Annual Report, showcasing key activities and accomplishments throughout the year.
During her internship, Georgia actively participated in several high-level events, gaining valuable insights into the interplay between technology, governance, and societal resilience.
Working in an international and multidisciplinary environment equipped our student with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills that will support her professional journey ahead.
This internship was completed under the academic supervision of Dr. Stavros Kaperonis, Assistant Professor at Panteion University.
